Below is are photos from my journeys researching this play:

Standing in the ruins of Woody Guthrie's first home, Okemah, Oklahoma.

Backstage in Baltimore with Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Woody's traveling buddy, the man Bob Dylan calls King of the Folksingers. In my opinion, Jack is the world's greatest interpreter of Woody's music. We have played two shows together and I learned a great deal just spending a little time with him.

The Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga Canyon, California. In the late 40's and 50's the place was a commune of sorts for blacklisted actors who put on plays and held concerts in Will Geer's garden and theater. The theater continues producing plays to this day, run by the Geer family. Woody spent a good amount of time here and scrawled his name into these steps.

Woody's statue in his hometown of Okemah, Oklahoma. I took this picture.

Monument to Woody in Okemah. My good friend Brenden Hines of "Lie to Me" fame is in the background. We took a road trip together, visited here and Pampa, TX as well although none of those photos made it back with me.
